Christmas is Satanic
Christmas is SATANIC |
Just to clarify more in case the pagans feel offended. The original Hebrew Term - "Satan" is a noun from a verb meaning primarily to "obstruct" or "oppose" (Numbers 22:22, 1 Samuel 29:4, Psalms 109:6). To conclude that Christmas is Satanic simply means that Christmas itself is against the biblical doctrines and hence is in opposition to God. If you are interested to understand why Christmas is deemed to be Satanic, read on to find out about the shocking revelation of Christmas itself.
Even my colleagues who are not Christians celebrate Christmas too. They bought Christmas Trees home to decorate, they went on a shopping spree to purchase presents for gifts exchange and are looking forward to partying together during this festive season.
To many of the people out there, Christmas is no longer something that is celebrated by Christians - it is a festival celebrated across different religions worldwide.
As for the Christians, they find this day memorable as it is the birthday of their Lord Jesus Christ. Their Messiah was born on this day and hence it is to be celebrated. However, is our Lord Jesus Christ really born on Christmas Day? We shall explore and discuss about this great controversy in this Muse of mine.
If you just search "Pagan Origins of Christmas" on www.google.com.sg, you will be amused by many long articles which discuss about this topic in great detail. However, these articles are normally really lengthy, I doubt anyone will have the perseverance to complete reading the entire article. Hence I will just summarise the main points in my post and make references by citing the website links of the lengthy articles below in case you might be interested to read the full articles.

Meaning of "MERRY CHRISTMAS"
- "Merry" simply means happy, joyful and light-hearted
- The term "Christmas" stems from 2 root words - "Christ" and "Mass". This means that Christmas is the "Mass of Christ".
- "Mass" is something that is practiced only by the Catholic Church and hence is rejected by the Protestants (i.e. Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians etc) - it is ironical that they are keeping the "Mass of Christ" during Christmas
- "Mass" in religious usage means "death sacrifice". According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, "Mass" refers to "The Supreme Act of Worship consists essentially in an offering of a worthy victim to God, the offering made by a proper person, as a priest, the destruction of the victim". In conclusion, the Mass is the ceremonial slaying of Jesus Christ over and over again, followed by the eating and drinking of His flesh and blood. "Christmas" is also a term invented by the Catholics.
- Hence when you greet each other "Merry Christmas", it will translate to "Happy Death of Christ"; notwithstanding the sentence "Ho Ho HO! Merry Christmas!" - indeed the GREATEST MOCKERY to Christianity!
Pagan Origins
- Earliest reference to Christmas being marked on 25 December comes from the 2nd Century after Jesus' birth
- First Christmas celebrations were in reaction to the Roman Saturnalia - a harvest festival that marked the Winter Solstice - the return of the sun - and honoured Saturn, the god of sowing
- The Roman Saturnalia were celebrated by pagans (i.e. non-Christians) in Rome
- After Christianity became official state religion of the Roman Empire, Emperor Justinian made Christmas a civic holiday by replacing the worship of the "sun" with the worship of the "Son" (Jesus Christ) in a bid to convert the pagans to Christians
- Around 600AD, Pope Gregory specifically instructed the Archbishop of Cantebury - Augustine to adapt existing local religious customs (pagan) and practices to Christian usage in order to help propagate the faith
- The celebration of Christmas in the medieval period was a time for conspicuous consumption and unequaled revelry
"I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them." ~ Acts 20:29-30
When was Christ born?
- There is no specific mention in the Holy Bible as to the exact date when Jesus Christ was born - it is unclear about the date that Christ is born and we can only make deductions as to when He was born
- Bible Scholars deduced Christ to be born in October or November as it was a custom among Jews to send out their sheep to the deserts about the Passover (early Spring) and bring them back at the commencement of the first rain (began in early-to-mid fall)
- It is impossible for Christ to be born on 25 December as no flocks were out in the fields
- In fact, there are no records of the birth dates of the faithful servants of God in the Holy Bible at all - birthdays are celebrated by pagans, not the Jews and God's people
"Hear Ye the Word which the Lord speaketh unto you" ~ Jeremiah 10:1
- Jesus only instructed His disciples to remember His death by partaking the Lord's Supper and not celebrate His birth
"A good name is better than precious ointment; and the DAY OF DEATH than the day of birth" ~ Ecclesiastes 7:1
Christmas Trees
- Plants and trees that remain green all year have a special meaning for people in winter - people hung evergreen boughs over their doors and windows as it was believed that evergreens would ward off witches, ghosts, evil spirits and illness
- In the Northern Hemisphere, the shortest day and longest night of the year falls on December 21 or 22 and is called the Winter Solstice - most people believed that the sun was a god and that winter occurs because the sun god has grown sick and feeble and hence the solstice was celebrated as it meant that the sun god will recuperate after that. Evergreen boughs reminds them that all green plants will grow again when the sun god recovers and summer returns
- Ancient Egyptians worshipped a god named Ra, who is the head of a hawk and wears the sun as a blazing disk in his crown. During the solstice, Ra begins to recover from his illness and the Egyptians will fill their homes with green palm rushes which symbolises triumph of life over death
- Early Romans marked the solstice with a feast called Saturnalia in honour of Saturn, the god of agriculture. They decorated their homes and temples with evergreen boughs to mark the occasion.
Holly Wreaths, Yule Logs and Misletoe
- Mistletoe has been regarded as sacred, mysterious, the symbol of the sun, bestower of life and protector agains disease and poison. It was referred as the "golden bough" by pagans. The 2 great holidays when pagans gathered mistletoe were Midsummer Day, the summer solstice, and 25 December, the winter solstice. Kissing under the mistletoe is a survival of Saturnalian sexual licentiousness and bawdy immoral behaviour, which was commonplace at the Saturnalia.
- European pagans brought holly sprays into their homes and offering them to the fairy people of the forests as refuges from the harsh winter weather. During the Roman Saturnalia, branches of holly were exchanged as tokens of friendship. The earliest Roman Catholics apparently used holly as a decoration at the Christmas season.
- "Yule" simply means "Wheel" - a pagan representation of the sun. The Celts believed that during the 12 days in December when the sun stood still (the reason for the days growing shorter and shorter), burning of the Yule Logs during the 12 days would persuade the sun to move again to lengthen the days. The Yule Log was originally an entire tree that was carefully chosen and brought into the house. The largest end of the log would be placed into the fire hearth while the rest of the tree stuck out into the room. The log would be lit from the remains of the previous year's log which had also been carefully stored away and slowly fed into the fire throughout the 12 Days. In France, it is a tradition for the entire family to cut the log down and that a little bit is burnt each night. If any log is left after the 12th night, it is kept safe in the house until the next December to protect against lightning. Hence that was the origin of the 12 Days of Christmas and log cakes we see in bakeries during Christmas!
"And why would you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?... These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings were merely human rules." ~ Matthew 15:3
"Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the heavens, though the nations are terrified by them. For the practices of the people are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good." ~ Jeremiah 10:2-5
Santa Claus
- It is a common misunderstanding that most people assume that the original "Santa Claus" was a bishop by the name of St. Nicholas of Asia Minor of the fourth century
- Although some of this bishop's deeds later came to be associated with "St. Nick", the original "Nicholas" was once again Nimrod - the "Mighty one AGAINST the Lord"
- Nimrod was mentioned in the Holy Bible on 4 accounts and was known to be an opposer of God as he tried to replace God (Genesis 10:8-9; 1 Chronicles 1:10; Micah 5:6; Revelation 2:6 and 15)
- Also, child sacrifice is a practice associated with the worship of fire god (Nimrod, Saturn, Kronos, Molech and Baal) and the people believed that it is pleasing to their god by sacrificing their children and that fire is able to purify them from original sin. Who would have thought that Santa Claus who is portrayed as every child's best friend is actually associated with human sacrifices?!
- According to Langer's Encyclopedia of World History, Santa was a common name for Nimrod throughout Asia Minor - this is the same fire god who came down the chimneys of the ancient pagans and the same fire god to whom infants were burned and eaten in human sacrifice
- Christmas traditions are focused primarily on children as they all started with the Santa Claus lie
Other Interesting Facts
- The Solon, Ohio (a Cleveland suburb) school banned all nativity and other Christmas scenes on any school property as they felt that it violated the separation of church and state in 1990
- This move was challenged in court by outraged parents who felt that Christmas was being stolen from their children and the community.. And... the board LOST the case
- It was contended that Christmas was a worldwide tradition that was not part of, and transcended, religion. Hence Christmas was deemed to be secular - a part of almost all cultures worldwide
Food For Thought
After coming into knowledge of the paganistic characteristics and biblical truth about Christmas, are we going to celebrate Christmas this December and crucify our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross again? Do remember that our God is a jealous God - we shall not worship any other god besides Him. By keeping the traditions of the pagans, are we not incurring God's wrath upon us at the same time?
"If anyone adds to theses things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." ~ Revelation 22: 18-19
Celebrating a festival which is not commanded by God is superfluous, what more a pagan one.
Yes, it is good to learn the spirit of giving and bless others - this is something that we Christians should do all the time, and not just during Christmas day itself. For what does it profit for us to give something to others and expecting something in return during the process of gifts exchange? Also, why are we teaching our kids to be good so that they can receive rewards from Santa? We should teach our kids to be God-fearing and to abide His statutes and commandments at all times instead.
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." ~ John 8:32
I do hope that you can be freed by the Truth too. Our faith should be based solely on the Holy Bible itself, and not on the traditions of men.
