How To Use?

If you use a hair conditioner regularly, you will find the steps for this skin conditioner works the same too!

#1 Cleanse your body with your regular shower gel. In order to enjoy the full benefits of any body lotion, it is vital that you scrub that dead skin off your body before application.

My new favourite for this month will be Soap and Glory's SMOOTHIE STAR Oat, Sugar and Shea Breakfast Scrub. I can never leave the bathroom without feeling hungry as the sweet scent from the Maple Syrup is making me hallucinate of eating a sumptuous breakfast!

My New Body Scrub from Sephora

I would highly recommend you guys to try this scrub out if you love sweet-smelling stuff (a pity that it is inedible) and it left my skin really supple afterwards!

#2 Apply NIVEA In-Shower Body Lotion whilst still in the Shower

#3 Rinse off throughly

#4 You are ready to go!! Remember to get dressed and not be too excited with your smooth skin!

My Review

As a minimalist and forgetful individual, I will often forget to apply my body butter after I get out from the bathroom.

Also, my experience with body lotions ain't exactly good as I do not like to have buttered hands after application and that will make everything I touch greasy and sticky too :(

Description at the back...

NIVEA's In-Shower Skin Conditioner really did help save a lot of hassle as I can rinse off the lotion at ease and do my own stuff afterwards. This product left a thin protective film on my skin after rinsing as I can feel that my skin is really smooth after use (minus the stickiness of course)!

However as my skin is very dry and scaly, this In-Shower Skin Conditioner is not moisturising enough for me - I should have tried the Intensive version for my dry skin I guess... Also, after a week of continuous usage, I realized that my skin started to itch pretty badly - I guess this is not suitable for sensitive skin :(

No Other Meaning (NOM) - Bistro & Bakery, Macpherson Community Club

Nom-ing Rainbow Cakes near our house!!

It has been a while since I blogged about my food adventures!

I have always wanted to try Rainbow Cakes for a looong long time already... Especially after seeing my Instagram friends posting pictures of their Rainbow Cake adventure. I think that Rainbow Cakes brightens up your day with their vibrant colours and it makes a good decoration on the dining table (of course, it would be a bonus if it tasted great!).

We haven't got time to visit a café which serves Rainbow Cakes (although it's like the "IN" thing now) till recently Sweetie Muffin suggested bringing me on a Rainbow Cake date.. I remembered seeing somebody Instagraming a Rainbow Cake served by N.O.M and hence suggested going there..

Sweetie Muffin googled the location and we were all amazed that it was located @ Macpherson CC which was like 5 minutes walk from my house! OMG that was so surreal!

N.O.M stands for "No Other Meaning" and they serve simple homemade fare with no other meaning.

Although this sounds pretty meaningless, but I do feel that homemade fare is pretty appealing to families living in the neighbourhood who doesn't have time to cook - they can conveniently bring their kids to dine at N.O.M instead :D

Le' Ambience

Panoramic View of the Bistro

The bistro itself was rather noisy at night with the chatters of the diners as the place was not soundproof at all. However, the place was well kept and clean.

The furnishings look somewhat purchased from IKEA but overall felt homely and welcoming :)

Al Fresco Dining Area ;)

Also, there was a little play area in the bistro and baby chairs to make the place a kid-friendly one. It really caters to the needs of families with young kids who are active and tend to move around during meals ;)

Baby Chairs with Colourful Utensils :)
Mini Slide for kids
I love the vibrantly coloured cutlery for children!

I visited this place twice because of its proximity from home. Once was a casual dinner with Sweetie Muffin whereas the second time was weekend brunch with Kriston :)

Browsing our Cakes @ the Fridge beside the Cashier...

How blessed are we to stay so near to this new discovery!!

Truffle Parmesan Fries (SGD6.90)

Fries, Truffle Oil, Mixed Herbs, Parmesan

Truffle Parmesan Fries (SGD6.90)

This tasted better than what we had initially expected from a neighbourhood café.

The dish reeked of the Parmesan Cheese's smell and the fries were thick and sturdy. They are not too soggy and we pretty much loved them just that they still lack the truffle taste.

Close-Up on the Fries...

I would personally prefer the Truffle Fries served by The Coastal Settlement but the fries served here are really not bad, especially when it is like a stone throw away from my house! Who will want to travel all the way to Changi for just Truffle Fries?

Rainbow Cakes (SGD7.90 each)

Chocolate Rainbow Cake

When Sweetie Muffin and I first had dinner here, only the Chocolate Rainbow Cake was left as the other flavours were too popular...

Chocolate Rainbow Cake (SGD7.90)

The chocolate one tasted really good as I am a chocolate lover and it tasted somewhat like chocolate fudge!

Taking Selfies with the Rainbow Cake is a MUST!

Sea Salt Caramel Rainbow Cake

We ordered this for brunch during our second visit.

Sea Salt Caramel Rainbow Cake (SGD7.90)

This one tasted good as well! However, I still prefer the sweetness from the Chocolate one!!

Hand Rolled Thin Crust Pizza

Half n Half (Bacon n Egg + Smoked Duck) (SGD16.90)

Hand Rolled Thin Crust Pizza: Half n Half (Bacon n Egg + Smoked Duck) (SGD16.90)

As greedy individuals who wanted to make the best out of our visit, we chose the half n half pizza which allows us to enjoy 2 types of pizzas in halves :)

It was quite difficult 'sawing' the pizza crust with our knives as the crust was very hard. We gave up eventually and used our hands instead.

We thought the pizza would taste like rock.. But hey! The crust was really crispy (like cracker) and the toppings tasted fresh and yummy too! Ultra love them!!

Classic Eggs Benedict (SGD9.90)

Ham, Poached Eggs, English Muffin, Hollandaise

My Weekend Brunch looked and tasted very homemade.

Weekend Brunch: Classic Eggs Benedict (SGD9.90)

The hams were the normal picnic hams which our mom would buy and put into our sandwiches for breakfast. The English Muffin tasted like those Sunshine / Gardenia brand ones.. I think the English Muffins would taste better if they were lightly toasted with a layer of butter on top :)

No Other Meaning (N.O.M) - Bistro & Bakery, Macpherson Community Club

What I liked was the salad as the balsamic vinegar dressing tasted sweeter than those I tried elsewhere. Also, the poached eggs were pretty well done too :)

Big Nomster (SGD12.90)

Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Cheesy Chicken Sausage, Toast

Weekend Brunch: Big Nomster (SGD12.90)

Kriston said this dish tasted pretty normal. However, this would be more sumptuous than our usual breakfast served at home :)

No Other Meaning (N.O.M) - Bistro & Bakery, Macpherson Community Club

The presentation of the toast looked really plain and normal with a block of butter to be spread..

No Other Meaning (N.O.M) - Bistro & Bakery, Macpherson Community Club

As Kriston can make really delicious scrambled eggs himself, this dish sort of lost its appeal to him some how :(

Wild Mushroom (SGD3.90)

Wild Mushroom Cream

Didn't really like this as it was rather watery. Perhaps serving Campbell's Cream of Mushroom would be a safer bet ;)

Wild Mushroom (SGD3.90): Wild Mushroom Cream

I would recommend Joan Bowen Café for great tasting mushroom soup in the vicinity. For a price tag of SGD3.90, there is nothing we can complain about...

Le' Service

The service is rather prompt - the dishes were being collected promptly whenever we are done eating them. And.. The best part of this place is that they do NOT charge you service charge and GST at all!

The service provided by the bistro is commendable as we were provided with decent service (rather than self-service) without having the need to cough out the service charge.

Overall

We will definitely visit this place again to try their Oreo Rainbow Cake (have not tried yet) and other flavours of their pizzas! I really loved this cozy dining place as they serve decent food at decent quality, pricing and service. Not to mention and re-emphasise that it is ultra near my house!! I can just walk home after the meal to rest and relax LOL.
