Yes! Its makan time again.. This time with a large group of ex-colleagues (approx 7 of us)..
We chose the most convenient area to makan n catch-up; town area because we are gathering after a working day after all ~~
Hence we chanced upon this cozy cafe in Wisma Atria ;)
The cafe is located in the midst of retail shops and it has adopted an open concept (with no glass walls or partitions)... It was quite cozy on a weekday night and not as rowdy as weekends with the crowd *DUH!*
Browsing the Menu
The menu offers a wide variety of fusion foodie ~ Thai + Western...

And also, we were informed that as the cafe is celebrating their Anniversary, they will be offering 20% off the total bill!! *WOW!!*
Being a lover of dairy products, I ordered Pasta with Ham and Cheese in cream sauce. The pasta tasted great with the cheesy flavour and the sauce is not too creamy or over-bearing.
Tom-Yum Seafood (SGD14.00++)
The Tom Yum soup is another must try product if you are into spicy and sour stuff. We ordered the Seafood Tom Yum Soup n it was great ;) By the way, the Tom Yum broth tasted more towards the sour side, hence if you prefer a spicier version, this will not be not the dish for you...
Other dishes ordered... Tasted quite OK..
Minced Pork Fried Rice with Chilli and Basil over rice with Egg (SGD16.00++)
Pomelo Salad with Shrimp (SGD17.00++)
Black Olives with Chicken Fried Rice (SGD14.00++)
The fried rice tasted really fragrant but would appreciate if they can serve more cashew nuts because we love them!!
Comes with a complimentary clear broth... |
Kaw-Soi Northern Thai Curry with Chicken and Egg Noodle (SGD14.00++)
The curry is not spicy but it has a very strong coconut fragrance and taste. I personally love this dish but you might get sick of eating the entire bowl as the coconut taste is just too strong.
Kaw-Soi Northern Thai Curry with Chicken and Egg Noodle (SGD14.00++) |
The Egg Noodles look tough and crispy when served. But after immersing it in the curry (at the bottom of the bowl), it becomes softer in a couple of minutes.. Its quite amusing for us to see it melt.. LOL.
Durain Cake (SGD9.00++)
Ending off with the dessert - Durain Cake! This is another MUST TRY if you are a Durain lover. Do not be deceived by its appearance - the durain cake is comparable or tasted better (in my humble opinion) than that of Goodwood Park Hotel's and Rendezvous Hotel's. Really fragrant, moist and sweet! Also, you must reserve the Durain Cake beforehand before it is gone!
Durain Cake (SGD9.00++) |
Carrot Cake (SGD7.00++)
The Carrot Cake tasted fine but our personal favourite is still the Durain Cake somehow...

Overall
This is a good place to chill out during evenings or for hi-tea. Will visit this place again with Sweetie Muffin as we are so in love with Durain ~~
