Have you ever been to Taiwan and fell in love with their street snacks? Back in Singapore and missed the taste dearly?

Do not worry, Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks have set up stalls in various shopping malls to bring these tastes back to Singapore!

Shilhlin Taiwan Street Snacks was first introduced to Da Rabbit by her good friend - Samantha when Da Rabbit was in a bad mood (she was emotional over Sweetie Muffin for upsetting her). Da Rabbit lost her appetite but Samantha bought one XXL Crispy Chicken to share with Da Rabbit afterwards.

Most people patronize Shihlin for their XXL Crispy Chicken which tastes ultra crispy on the outside and yet tender and juicy inside ♥♥~ Da Rabbit ♥ the seasoning Shihlin used for their XXL Crispy Chicken too! The combination of chilli powder and pepper is just so heavenly ~~~ Taste better than KFC in Da Rabbit's opinion *kekeke*

However, Da Rabbit shall not review much on the XXL Crispy Chicken as it is a far too popular dish which the patrons will usually order. As the portion of the XXL Crispy Chicken is usually very large (as what 'XXL' suggests), Da Rabbit would not order that when she is eating it alone. She would order another alternative - Sweet Plum Potato Fries (甘梅地瓜).

This time round, Da Rabbit is alone in Serangoon NEX to do some grocery shopping for her DIY Salad Lunch and hence the Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks stall was located conveniently outside NTUC Supermarket...

*WARNING: Do not go too near that counter if you have allergic nose!! You might end up sneezing as the smell from the powders are very potent indeed :)

Sweet Plum Potato Fries (甘梅地瓜)

According to the Shihlin Official Website (provided above), this dish was a creation with specially selected sweet potatoes that are washed and air dried before being battered and lightly fried to bring out their irresistible fragrance. Golden and crunchy, they are served with a dash of Shihlin's specially blended plum powder.

Many apologies for poor image resolution as Da Rabbit was on the go with the takeaway bag of snacks :D

Da Rabbit can truly vouch for Shihlin's claim that the Sweet Plum Potato Fries are irresistible as she could NOT stop eating those freshly fried fries ALL by herself! The sweetness from the sweet potato goes well with the zesty taste from the plum powder seamlessly and it is very appetizing indeed ♥♥

So, please do give this dish a try when you have gotten sick of eating too much XXL Crispy Chicken!!
