{Media Invite} New Breakfast Concept for the Busy YOU :)
Good news to all those working near the Central Business District!
You can now enjoy breakfast at MEDZS, Clifford Centre before going to office. Available from 8am to 11am on weekdays, the new breakfast menu comprises of Artisan Sandwiches and French Bread Pizzas.
Besides writing up on those cliché New Year Resolution (I never bothered about it anyways) and lament on how tough my 2014 was, I would like to wrap it up with EVERYTHING SWEET.
Yes! I love desserts. Looking back my past year.. How many desserts have I ate?! OMG - I lost count...
Novelties - Worth A Try
I would like to start my dessert post with something novel which I have tried and tasted in 2014. Perhaps it might not be as novel after some time but anyways, it is still a good experience.
Liquid Nitrogen Ice-Cream
Just Like it!
Liquid Nitrogen Ice-cream seems to be a fad to me because it does not taste as creamy and nice as traditional ice-cream.
King Forest "The Durian" (SGD12.90) from Just Like it!
I simply "Just HATE it!" because it tasted pretty diluted.
Another café which serves Liquid Nitrogen Ice-Cream. It would be great for those people with sensitive teeth to abstain from this because the ice-cream tasted really icy cold!
The ice-cream served by 320 Below tasted a lot better than that served by Just Like it!.
Bailey's Coffee Ice-Cream with Chocolate Lava Cake (SGD8.90) from 320 Below
The Archilles' Heel of this is that the chocolate lava within the cake tasted cold and not warm when it oozed out *Eeek!*
Gardens By The Bay (SGD14++): Fresh Strawberries and Kiwis layered by Vanilla Mousse, topped with Dark Chocolate Soil resting on Apple Compote infused with Cranberry
Stay Home Mum Café Website:www.shmcafe.com.sg Location: The Central 6 Eu Tong Sen Street Singapore 059817 Tel: 96966215 / 966966216 Operating Hours: Daily, 11:00 to 21:00
The Tiramisu Hero, Jalan Besar
Eggless tiramisu recipe which is made with heavenly combination of Premium Espresso, Kahlua, Sreridam and Mascorpone Cheese....
It is just too much marketing gimmicks as taste fell below our expectation greatly.
MommaHero (SGD7.50+): Sir Antonio's Signature Tiramisu in a Jar
Wondering why am I giving it a feature here - oh well, visit if you are interested. Who knows you might fall in love with their cakes?
This is slightly off the point as the Tiramisu is contained in a HUGE jar!
YUMs!!!
Tiramisu (SGD7.80++): Mascarpone Cheese, Sponge Finger Soaked in Espresso and Rum Syrup
Ideal only if you are sharing with someone else :)
A totally satisfying sweet treat for myself! *Muahahaha*
Poulet ------- Website: http://poulet.com.sg Locations: - Bedok Mall #B2-31/32 - Bugis+ #04-12 - Chinatown Point L2 - Great World City #02-K2/K3 - And Many More... Operating Hours: Daily, 11:30 - 22:00
On-The-Go
Desserts which you can literally GRAB and take along with you on the go!
Frozen Yoghurt aka Froyo
Milk and Honey Artisan Yoghurt and Dessert Bar
Spoiling your sweet tooth with frozen yoghurt which is decorated like a very classy dessert?
Then, Milk and Honey is the place for you :)
Milk and Honey @ 1km Shopping Mall
We waited for 20 minutes for our desserts to be prepared and was pretty glad that the dessert looked exactly the same as the picture reflected on the menu :) However, this is a tad more expensive than my favourite llaollao.
Chocolate Divine (SGD9.16) and Tropical Zest (SGD8.22) from #milkandhoney_sg
The frozen yoghurt itself has a sourish tangy taste which is very different from my favourite creamy and smooth texture. Although the froyo looked appetising, it was disappointing that the macaron on my Chocolate Divine tasted so-so (you call that macaron?). In addition, the balls topping tasted rather "lao hong" (soggy) and not crispy.
YAY!
Nonetheless, it was worth a try because I received over 200 likes once I posted the photos on my instagram @Aldora_Muses :)
Also, do note that this café is open till late - so do pop by if you have late night cravings!

OK, I am sarcastic as usual...
But.. Let me share with you a GOOD Deal - you can get free Ice-Cream cones from McDonald's if you are an avid user of LINE Messenger.
Why would I want to spend on ice-cream + cotton candy when I can get a cone FOC from McDonald's and perhaps buy the candy floss from pasar malam? - Food for Thought indeed.

Azabu Sabo Hokkaido Ice-Cream, Takashimaya
This ice-cream outlet first appeared in The Central Shopping Mall but it was sort of relocated to Takashimaya B1.
My Favourite "Twin-Tower" Cone from Azabu Sabo Hokkaido Ice-Cream
So Many Flavours to choose from!!
In fact this is one of my favourite ice-cream outlets in Singapore as it is made of rich, creamy fresh milk from Hokkaido with no chemical additives. This ice-cream is extremely creamy and soft and only a few selected flavours is hard enough to create the 'twin-tower' cone below.
Very satisfying if you are having this alone or sharing it with a friend :)
OK for Matcha Float. Didn't really like it to be honest.
Matcha Float from Tsujiri, 100AM

Famished after a day's shopping?
You can grab a snack here :)
Crepe Singnature @ Far East Plaza
Fanciful crepes to fill your growling tummies :)
Huge Variety of Crepes and Sweet Treats to choose from~
The crepe is thin and crispy and I pretty enjoyed it ~ Reminds me of tissue pratas :D
Butter Milk Cheese Crepe (SGD3.60)
Total Damage: SGD3.60

King Avocado, Alexandra Food Village
Indeed the BEST Avocado Milkshake ever tasted in my life!!!
We paid less than SGD3 (I think) for a big cup of Avocado Milkshake! It tasted ultra rich and smooth ~
Not to mention that the Alexandra Food Village do serve other yummy food at affordable prices too!! - Ignore the Bak Kut Teh below (it didn't taste as good).

Groupon Deals
Ice-Cream Buffet from Ice Cream Chefs (SGD16.80)
OK, I slapped my face HARD on this thing about purchasing Groupon.
The Ice-Cream Buffet one was too hard to resist!
After making that deadly purchase, we realised its MANY restrictions in the fine prints which we sort of missed out when we clicked the "Buy" button. We can only dine during weekdays only, excluding eve of public holidays and public holidays. The Groupon was valid for ALL flavours except for their Mao Shan Wang Durian and it is only valid for 90 minutes.
There were too many displeasures which occurred with this stupid purchase as the staff started denying our access to the buffet saying that we did not call to make a reservation in advance (the ice-cream parlour was EMPTY - why need to make reservation?) after we travelled all the way to the ever ulu (deserted) corner of Singapore @ their branch in East Coast Road.
We only get to eat the buffet during our SECOND visit @ the Upper Thomson Branch and the staff offered us free brownie as a compensation for our mental 'trauma' experienced earlier.
Ice-Cream Buffet from Ice Cream Chefs (SGD16.80)
This was the first time I eat my favourite dessert till I feel like puking.
The ice-cream tasted mediocre in general and the fruity flavours tasted slightly better in view that they are made of real fruits. The buffet option was really an overdose for both Sweetie Muffin and I in short - it seemed that all flavours tasted the same. *Tsk*

Waffles
Who doesn't like to eat waffles?
Waffle Factory, Singapore Post
My favourite place for decent and affordable waffles at all times :)
Cheddar Cheese Waffle (SGD1.50)
They offer the widest variety of waffles thus far.
Casa Italia (fka Gelateria Italia) ------- Facebook Page:https://www.facebook.com/casaitalia1962 Locations: - Plaza Singapura #B2-55 - Takashimaya #B1-81 - Changi Airport T3 #B2-22 - JCube #B1-18 - Bugis+ #01-07 - VIVOCity #B2-K2 - ION Orchard #B4-K1 - Jurong Point #03-32/33 - And many more...
Häagen-Dazs
Desserts taste best when shared (true to a certain extent).
This is applicable when you want to try many different flavours but not at the expense of gorging your bellies..
Waffle Basket with a choice of 6 flavours of ice-cream (:
Not all flavours are fantastic so you have to go by trial and error till you get your favourite flavours!
The portion of the cakes served were a tad too big to our liking as we get overdosed by the rich flavours of cheese ~~ Eeks

The Marmalade Pantry, ION Orchard
Quick place to rest after a day's shopping @ Orchard Road.
They offer a good selection of desserts to brighten up your tea time!
Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding (SGD14++) with Vanilla Ice-Cream
Warm and Moist Toffee Pudding paired with icy cold Vanilla Ice-Cream and then topped with caramel sauce.. Marvellous combination for those who loves sweets!
Lemon Brûlée Tart (SGD14++)
The Lemon Brûlée Tart tastes slightly lighter than the previous dessert and I pretty much love this too.
Great for people who are simple.
Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge Cake (SGD8++)
Ultra Chocolate-y. Try only if you LOVE chocolates - if not be prepared for a not so pleasant overdose :S
Paris Baguette ------- Website: http://eng.paris.co.kr Location: 50 Airport Boulevard Changi Airport Terminal 2 Arrival Hall
Fruit Paradise
Indeed, a fruit paradise like it's name.
Mixed Fruits Tart (SGD7.80)
Ultra love their fruit tarts!
Would recommend you to try the Mixed Fruits and Mixed Berries Chocolate ones :)

I ultra love their Roti Cannai as it is super duper crispy ~~~
B17 Papa Canai with Vanilla Ice-Cream + Vanilla
I super love my Daddy because he is RICH to treat the family to weekend brunch @ PapaRich :)
Food is on the pricy side though...

Tiong Bahru Bakery, Raffles City
What? Not restricted to only Tiong Bahru?
Yes, this bakery is expanding and so is their menu!
Traditional Chinese Desserts are my all-time favourite but they can taste really bad if they are prepared wrongly. Hence I only patronise a few stalls for that reason.
Ah Chew Desserts Pte Ltd, Bugis
Try to go on a weekday afternoon as the evening crowd gets really terrible.
P6 Black Glutinous Rice with Vanilla Ice-Cream (SGD3.60) and N1 Mochi made of Rice-Ball (SGD2.20)
My favourite orders there include P6 Black Glutinous Rice (Bubur Hitam) with Vanilla Ice-Cream (SGD3.60) and E5 Fresh Milk Steamed Egg with Ginger Juice (Hot) (SGD3.50).. :D
P5 Black Glutinous Rice (Hot) (SGD3.00) and E5 Fresh Milk Steamed Egg with Ginger Juice (Hot) (SGD3.50)
The must-visit place whenever I accompanied my Mom to Chinatown for her boring shopping!
My Mom would use this as a bait to trick me to accompany her to Chinatown and it worked almost most of the times...
The below are my must-order desserts from there ~
I love their Vanilla Ice-Cream the most as they tasted very smooth and creamy :) Also, their prices are very affordable too!
Also, I am very fussy when it is Almond Cream as I hate the powdery texture served by most not so authentic dessert shops. The Almond Cream served by Dessert Hut is smooth and tasty - hence I am a loyal fan of Dessert Hut!

Roadside Ice-Cream Stalls
What beats eating ice-cream under the sweltering heat whilst walking on the streets?
At only SGD2, you get to enjoy an upsized ice-cream cone!!

The Champion
Nana's Green Tea
My most favourite dessert is none other than the Matcha "Gateaux Chocolat" Parfait from Nana's Green Tea. I would always order this whenever I visit this place for my favourite millet rice set :)
D2 Matcha "Gateaux Chocolat" Parfait (SGD13.80++): An artisan dessert starting with a layer of Kanten Jelly and Matcha syrup then topped with soft serve vanilla ice-cream, generous layer of corn flakes and garnished with a Matcha Ice Cream, Matcha Gateaux Chocolate Cake, Red Bean Paste, Whipped Cream and a drizzle of Matcha Syrup
Sorry, women are spiteful - this is very true for rabbits too.
The food (including the desserts) tasted were not doing justice to my tongue and hence I am shaming this café here for burning a hole in our pocket and ruining my appetite.
Have read various positive reviews from bloggers about how nice their food tasted (I think it is another publicity stunt as it was a media invite) but sorry, I think its either their tastebuds are always compromising or I am plain unlucky during my visit.
As mentioned, Goreng Pisang from Pasar Malam would taste better (and way cheaper) than the pathetic fried banana fritters below!
Banana Paradise (SGD9++): Golden Crispy Fritters served with Vanilla Ice-Cream
C'mmon, please do better if you want to attract more customers~
