Secrets to Apple EarPods

Have you ever come across of somebody who has spent a fortune on the latest gadgets but have not actually utilised them to the fullest?

Supposing your fish can swim really swiftly but you are limiting it to swim in only a small fish tank instead of swimming freely in the vast oceans... I'm sorry, but most of the people are like that when it comes to IT stuff.

Technology is always advancing but we are guilty of not being able to keep up with its pace. Simply remind me of this saying: "Phones are smarter, but the users are dumber".

Indeed, I have come across too many IT idiots / dummies which are restricting their gadgets to a "fish tank".. In that case, they might as well get a Nokia 3310 and not dump their $$$ away right? LOL.. Don't get too offended because I really ~~HATE~~ dislike coaching Sweetie Fin on how to use his iPhone 5 and how to sync his phone to iTunes... Do you actually need people to teach you how to sync to iTunes?!!! Just plug the phone into the computer and open iTunes and syncing would be done - as easy as 1-2-3 isn't it?

Just as how frustrated I was when I muse about IT stuff to an IT idiot.. I think Sweetie Fin might have vomited a huge bucket of blood when he tried to guide me on the directions i.e. navigating around Marina Bay Sands (*ARGH* my nemesis. Do you know how frightening it is to be lost nowhere in MBS?). Yes, I might be good with IT stuff (I decorated my blog's template etc) but I am a direction idiot.. Well, just like your 10 fingers - not all fingers are of the same length. We do have our own strengths and shortcomings.. Soz, just have to learn to be less critical about Sweetie Finn when he is facing a technology "pandemic".. *oops*

Back to the topic on Apple EarPods.. Apple do have a lot of great functions that are hidden and unspoken you know? Such as shortcuts and tricks around the IOS7.. I have to download the Secrets to IOS7 app in order to learn some of the secret functions (but would forget some of them when not frequently used)...

Le' Apple EarPods

Based on the Apple's website, the EarPods are designed ergonomically to rest comfortably in your ears. They fit Da Rabbit's ears damn well. I used to have the traditional circular earbuds but they always slide out of my rabbit ears.. *shrugs*

Also, the speakers inside the EarPods have been engineered to minimise sound loss and maximise sound output. So the end result is that you get high quality audio like what you will hear from most expensive headphones. *WOW!!*

I do agree that the EarPods are great when listing to soundtracks etc. Most users would harp that it does not completely isolate the noise from the environment when you have the EarPods plugged in.. Da Rabbit would like to veto against these negative feedbacks as Apple said that their EarPods are engineered to "minimise" sound loss, NOT to "eliminate" sound loss. Aniwaes, it is good for you to still hear what is around you whilst listening to your music as it is a hazard to cross the roads without hearing the cars honking at you. You might have walked into your grave with your ultra expensive headphones that eliminates sound loss you know?

Just to digress a little.. Da Rabbit's brudder - Da Piggy used to own a really cool set of ~~Beads~~ Beats Headphone. One fine day whilst he was listening to his headphone in his room and enjoying his carefree life, our mother tried to call him from the kitchen for some assistance. However, after calling him a few times and not getting a response, Da Mother Hen went into Da Piggy's room and realised that he was "HIGH" on his Beats. She then gave him a dressing down and said that if she had fainted in the kitchen or needed him to perform CPR, she would have died long ago if Da Piggy was so deaf... Hence, Da Piggy was compelled to throw his Beats away and downgrade to normal earbuds *CLAP CLAP*

The most basic functions

Da Rabbit thinks that one can go bang le' head against the wall if he doesn't know this...

Press Le' + Button to up the Volume

Press Le' - Button to decrease Volume

Le' More complex functions

Press middle part once to play / pause soundtrack. Best if can use thumb to press, dun press with middle finger hor :p

Listening to boring slow classical music? Press the middle section TWICE and hold to Fast Forward the soundtrack...

Having hearing problems and have not heard what was being sung earlier? No worries, press the middle section THRICE & hold to rewind the soundtrack

Feeling bored of the soundtrack and want to proceed to the next? Fine, press the middle section twice (without holding) to skip to the next track...

Wanna backtrack because you love the previous song very much? Press the middle section THRICE to skip to the previous track straight.

You like talking to Siri a lot? Press & Hold the middle section in order to Activate Siri like how you would press and hold the Home button on your iPhone...

This is a MUST-KNOW trick for those of you who enjoy taking selfies. It is so damn freaking difficult to press the middle camera shutter button on the iPhone screen when you are taking your selfie. Hence pressing the + button whilst in the camera app acts as the shutter button and helps you to snap your photos instantly! Da Rabbit ♥ this function! (Tip to take the perfect Selfie on your iPhone)

Press the middle button ONCE to pick up / put down incoming calls

Press and Hold the middle section hard to REJECT incoming calls. Just imagine the most loathsome person has called you, use that disgust and transfer it into energy to press and hold the middle section of the controller... Muahaha Da Rabbit is very meanie meanie MEAN!!
