Da Rabbit was famished after exploring the new Bugis Junction and have chanced upon the grand opening of Miam Miam when she exited from BHG at level 2. Sweetie Muffin had dropped Da Rabbit at the mall to walk around after church whilst he went to meet his client for a short discussion.
What attracted her was the fragrance floating from the open concept cafe as she was really very hungry at that time. The smell of the food when the chef was pan-frying the ingredients somehow made Da Rabbit salivate.. So Da Rabbit passed by the entrance and the waiter kindly showed Da Rabbit the menu and Da Rabbit ♥ the photos on the menu as they are very well-taken and looked very very appetising indeed.
A HUNGRY RABBIT is an ANGRY RABBIT.
Le' Decor
Da Rabbit super loves pastel colours, country style decor and wood furnishings. The furnishings of the cafe has caught Da Rabbit's ♥ even before she gets to try the foodie.
Look at the pastel coloured chairs! Da Rabbit loves the Tiffinay Blue coloured ones and the Pastel Yellow one! It feels so welcoming and homely!! ♥♥♥
Le' Menu
Da Rabbit then took the time to explore the menu in great detail whilst waiting for Sweetie Fin to arrive...

Ambience
As the cafe was situated just outside BHG's entrance / exit, you will be expecting a lot of human traffic flowing in and out together with kids. Hence, it will be slightly noisy and you would feel that the passer-bys are staring at you when you are in the midst of savouring your foodie.
Sweetie Finn hated the feeling of being watched whilst eating and hence he was complaining about it when he first sat down on the pastel chair opposite me. He said that it was noisy behind and it is not worth the price that he pays to be watched at.
Service
As the staff is still considered very new and young, in fact we think that most of the waiters and waitresses are students working on a part-time basis, hence the service you get will not be so professional as the waiter who served us did not really understand their dishes well - we will explain more later. When we entered the staff greeted us in 'Bonjour' (which means 'Hello, good day!' in French) and when the food was served, we were greeted again with 'Bon Appetit' (which means 'Enjoy your Meal' in French). Then, when we were about to leave, we were greeted 'Merci Beucoup' (which means 'Thank You very much' in French). How amusing!!
However, Da Rabbit appreciates the fact that the waiter who served us tried to be really courteous. He bend down to our height (we were sitting down, not SHORT) level whilst taking our orders patiently.

See? You get what I mean?
And.. I think the waiter is quite good-looking too, he looks a little like the Korean celebrities.. Many young girls might just patronise this place to see their eye candy ♥♥♥
*UPDATE: 24 January 2014
The ordering system changed - you will be provided with the Order Chit to fill up your order by yourself. Upon completion of the Order Chit, you may press the Service Button for the staff to attend to you. Also, payments are to be made at the counter.
I feel that this lacks a personal touch as this operating model is somewhat similar to a typical Hong Kong Café - just feels cheap.
What We Ordered
Da Rabbit ordered Miam Miam Capellini as she cannot resist half-cooked eggs *rolls eyes*. Its weird but Da Rabbit is madly in love with consuming half-boiled eggs and sunny side ups with a runny egg yolk ♥ ♥
Sweetie Finn also ordered the Souffle De Nuage as that was like one of a must-try dish judging from the photo that was featured on the menu.
Then both Da Rabbit and Sweetie Muffin decided on their desserts - Matcha Pancake! Yes, Matcha means Green Tea in Japanese. So this pancake has the flavouring of Japan!! How nice ♥ ♥ ~
*UPDATE: 24 January 2014
Have returned to try their drinks and desserts - ordered the recommended Miam Miam HAZE and the Valrhona Chocolate Soufflés.

Food
Miam Miam Capellini Spaghetti (S$15.80++)
As the shop ran out of Capellini, Spaghetti was served instead. The charming waiter had already informed Da Rabbit beforehand, so there is nothing to feel bad about.
The dish tasted like pasta prepared in the aglio olio style with lots of olive oil. Aww it tasted heavenly when you mix the pasta with the runny egg on top. The spaghetti is smooth to taste due to the egg and olive oil but its a little too hard. Perhaps the Capellini would taste nicer *what a pity*
Souffle
For Sweetie Finn, he ordered Souffle De Nuage but he was served Souffle Au Curry instead as the waiter had Souffle De Nuage and Souffle Au Curry on his tray and he mixed our orders up. However, Sweetie Finn was magnanimous and made do with his Souffle Au Curry instead :(
Souffle De Nuage Au Curry (S$16.80++)
For Sweetie Finn, he ordered Souffle De Nuage but he was served Souffle Au Curry instead as the waiter had Souffle De Nuage and Souffle Au Curry on his tray and he mixed our orders up. However, Sweetie Finn was magnanimous and made do with his Souffle Au Curry instead :(Where did the tomato sauce go??!
Da Rabbit tried Sweetie Finn's Souffle Au Curry and loved the fluffy and soft egg topping on top. The egg was whisked into a foamy texture before being cooked and placed on top of the baked risotto. Da Rabbit actually preferred Souffle Au Curry more as it is richer in taste. The risotto is sticky and cheesy in texture and is really fragrant when consumed with the curry sauce!
However, Sweetie Finn feedback that he could not finish the entire dish as the flavour was too strong for him to take. The entire dish was too cheesy and eggy till he got sick of it totally after taking a few mouthfuls. Aww that's the problem with flavourful foodie :( Moreover, Sweetie Finn was commenting that the ingredients in his dish - which consists of only rice, egg, cheese, curry sauce and a bit of cheesy sausage cost to cheap to worth S$16.80++. So Sweetie Finn was an unhappy and dissatisfied Muffin during dinner.. Actually Da Rabbit was glad that she ordered the Miam Miam Capellini instead as it tastes lighter than the Souffle.. *Oops*
Matcha Pancake (S$10.80++)
Matcha Pancake can be served either with Brown Sugar or Maple Syrup. The waiter recommended Brown Sugar so we took his advice.The Matcha Pancake is thicker than normal pancakes. In fact, it looked like Pandan Sponge Cake when it was served *Ke Ke Ke* The exterior is actually a little crispy whereas the interior is warm, moist and spongy. It tasted great with the Brown Sugar Syrup provided.
Da Rabbit was happily savouring her pancake until Sweetie Finn highlighted a serious problem.
Hmmm yup! Suddenly remembered that it was supposed to be Matcha Pancakes! Where is the Matcha taste??!! It tasted a little saltish like scones.. LOL.. But Da Rabbit enjoyed eating it. So it doesn't matter if it doesn't taste like Matcha.."Do you taste any Matcha in it?"

Tea + Soufflés |
Miam Miam Haze aka London Fog (SGD6.80++)
Earl Grey Tea with Steamed Milk and Homemade Vanilla Syrup
I was informed that my Valrhona Chocolate would take 30 minutes to serve hence I ordered the drink first...Miam Miam Haze aka London Fog (SGD6.80++) |
The drink took more than 10 minutes to be prepared until I have to ask the waiter: "Do I have to wait for 30 minutes for my drink to be served also?!"
What a Mediocre Earl Grey Tea! |
The taste was just so-so. As a lover of Earl Grey Tea, this drink only has a mild Earl Grey taste. In fact it tasted pretty bland. I think Starbucks' tea tastes better at a lower cost too! Also, I can make a better cup of London Fog with the Twinings Tea Bag by myself too. Meh~ :(
Valrhona Chocolate (SGD13.80++)
Indulge in a true moment of ecstasy with heavenly decadent melted chocolate on top of your soufflé!
Valrhona Chocolate (SGD13.80++) |
OK, this is a total disappointment. The soufflé is very hot and moist on the inside, it is very chocolate-ty.. But simply doesn't taste so fantastic to worth the 30 minutes wait :( Haix~ I don't find any MIAM factor in it.. In fact its a MEH~
Tasted really soft and fluffy inside till I thought I was tasting puke :( |
Close-Up |
Le' Total Damage
Yup, the prices are on a higher side in consideration that you get watched whilst eating and you get to 'enjoy' the noise pollution from outside.*UPDATE: 24 January 2014
Le' Total Damage :( |
Overall
Da Rabbit quite enjoyed her dining experience although Sweetie Finn did not really enjoyed his. Actually, Da Rabbit feels that the aglio olio spaghetti which her brother - Da Piggy cooks is as GOOD as the Miam Miam Capellini. She will probably visit this place again with Da Piggy if there is another opportunity to do so :)*UPDATE: 24 January 2014
The food is indeed overpriced as Sweetie Muffin had commented during our first visit. Will only return for the pancakes I guess :(
