Grand Opening of COSTA Coffee @ Sofitel

We were allured by the Free Drinks treat on the first day opening of COSTA Coffee after receiving it from their staff last Friday prior to its opening.

According to the company's website, COSTA Coffee only uses Mocha Italia blend that comes from sustainably grown beans sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified Farms. This means that the farmers and land used to grow the coffee beans are carefully supported and sustained. Hence Costa Coffee strives to produce coffee that is environmentally responsible.

Le' Ambience

I love the spaciousness of the café and the coziness we experienced when we sat there to sip our drinks. We actually expected a massive lunch crowd due to the free coffee giveaway but surprisingly there were empty seats in the café which was lovely :)

There is a very strong cinnamon taste in this as the barista sprinkled a good dose of cinnamon powder on top of the drink. The drink tasted overall rather diluted and not as sweet as Starbucks. I would personally prefer the Chai Tea Latte served by Starbucks though...

I can't remember how much I paid for the dessert but it was around S$6+.

The staff actually recommended the dessert to be served chilled but the crumble itself did not feel cold... It was just like room temperature (and lightly chilled by the aircon perhaps?). I was expecting it to taste really icy cold..

Anyway the mango and banana crumble tasted great - not too sweet and just nice. But I think I would enjoy to eat it warm and moist like apple crumbles ~ LOL.

Overall

I would still visit this place as it is a conducive place to conduct meetings or even a great place to chill during lunch / tea break. Perhaps I should try other drinks / house specialties to make a sounder judgment of the food served :)
