10 More Days to #RabbitMuffin ROM on 10/10/2014

  TEN MORE DAYS TO 10/10/2014

#RabbitMuffin

Countdown to #RabbitMuffin Engagement!!!

Time FLIES! Even before we know it, our engagement would be held NEXT FRIDAY!

Ohhhhhh~ I am still not mentally prepared for it.

Recalling back to that night when we literally 'stalked' the ROM website to reserve our 'auspicious' date and logged into the system at 12am sharp on 10 July 2014. The slots available on 10/10 were taken up within the next hour *WOW*. So we were very lucky that we managed to get a slot!

List of Popular Dates indicated by ROM
It is amazing that we have nice dates in 2014 falling on Fridays:

- 6 June 2014 (6/6)
- 8 August 2014 (8/8)
- 9 September 2014 (9/9)
- 10 October 2014 (10/10)
- 12 December 2014 (12/12)

And the above are the popular dates to register marriage.

I think for Chinese, 8/8, 9/9 and 10/10 are most popular as 8 in Chinese sounds like prosperous (發); 9 in Chinese means long (久) (you want you marriage to last for a lifetime right?) and 10 (十) is a perfect numeral in Chinese and the idiom 十全十美 means that everything is perfect.

Sweetie Muffin and I chose 10/10 because we wanted our marriage to be blissful and complete :) We are not superstitious but I chose to register our marriage on a Friday so that we can enjoy the long weekend afterwards.

90 Couples will be solemnizing on 10/10/2014

Our engagement will be a casual and simple affair. In fact we have not planned anything because to us this is just a formality. Our church wedding and banquet would be held in April next year.
The participants will just be our closest relatives and the witnesses chosen are our fathers. We intend to have a casual celebratory meal at the restaurant afterwards.

 What To Expect

This is the first time we are registering our marriage. Hence it is normal to feel jittery over the process.

Le' Process

According to the confirmation slip from ROM, both Sweetie Muffin and I need to make a trip down to ROM on the 9th October 2014 (one day before) to 'show face'. This is just a simple process to verify our documents and declaration.

We have to bring the following documents for verification:

1. Summary of Notice of Marriage
2. Original NRIC or Passport of Bride and Groom
3. Photocopy of NRIC or Passport of the 2 Witnesses
4. Divorce Paper (if applicable)
5. Death Certificate of late spouse (if applicable)

Both the bride and groom has to be physically present for this verification process.

On the actual day (i.e. 10 October 2014), the bride and groom together with the 2 witnesses must be present and we must bring the above documents for verification again.

It is highly encouraged for all parties to dress formally for the solemnity of marriage and to arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the appointment time for settling in prior to the solemnization ceremony.

Was really wondering what is the hassle of making a trip down to ROM on 9th Oct for the verification process as the appointment was fixed early in the morning at 8.30am! *TSK*

Although this is not our customary wedding, I still do feel jittery at the thought of it. I'm going to sign my name on the marriage cert and would be considered married in the eyes of the law.

Pray I'll survive through this without much blunder (who knows my tongue might be tied whilst reciting the marriage vows).

Until Next Time :)

Casa Italia (fka Geleteria Italia), Singapore Changi Airport

Food Adventures @ Singapore Changi Airport T3 (Part III)

After 2 consecutive setbacks from Itacho Sushi and 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken, we decided to end everything off with a decent dessert and hence we strolled over to Casa Italia for Gelato with Waffles :)

Just realised that the café's name was changed to Casa Italia from Geleteria Italia although their signboard remains as the old name.

Café Name: Casa Italia fka Geleteria Italia
Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/casaitalia1962
Location:
Basement 2, Changi Airport Terminal 3
63 Airport Boulevard
Singapore 819663
Operating Hours: Daily, 07:00 - 23:00

Le' Ice-Cream Palour is rather cosy with its classical furniture pieces and décor.

I love the stripy walls...

As there were 3 of us, we chose 3 flavours of Gelato Ice-cream - Butterscotch, After Eight and Earl Grey.

The gelato served by Casa Italia is handmade with natural ingredients with no artificial flavourings, colourings and preservatives which makes it a healthier choice for desserts :)

Waffle with 3-Scoops of Ice Cream (approx SGD13++)

The waffles and ice-cream combo was good although we tasted better ones.

Chillaxing over desserts ~

We enjoyed the sweet treat which we gave ourselves although this costs over SGD13.

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken, Singapore Changi Airport

Food Adventures @ Singapore Changi Airport T3 (Part II)

4 Fingers is somewhat like a Fast-food restaurant serving Korean Themed Cuisine. We actually visited this restaurant to try their much raved fried chicken after our dinner @ Itacho Sushi in the vicinity.

This has been the recent "IN" thing in Singapore as people are queuing for the fried chicken like nobody's business.

LINE STICKER: Cheon Song-Yi's Cony Special (Free): Inspired by heroine from SBS drama 'My Love from The Stars' - Cheon Song-Yi.
Cheon Song-Yi's favourite Fried Chicken

Perhaps an overdose from the Korean Drama "My Love From The Star" where the female lead - Cheon Song Yi enjoys eating Fried Chicken paired with beer?

The catch of this place is that the food served contains no MSG, no Pork, No Lard and no Beef - so it contains FOUR NOs and hence the name FOUR Fingers? Hmm just weird as Four Fingers sounds deformed anyway.

Kriston was too excited over the 4 Fingers Hype...

Restaurant Name: 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken
Website: http://www.gimme4fingers.com/crispy/
Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/gimme4fingers
Location:
Basement 2, Changi Airport Terminal 3
63 Airport Boulevard
Singapore 819663
Tel: 6214 3995
Operating Hours:
Sundays - Thursdays, 10:30 to 23:00
Fridays, Saturdays and Eve of Public Holiday, 10:30 to 12:00

We almost got shooed away by the cleaner aunty when she saw us taking self-portraits of ourselves whilst waiting for Kriston to queue for the food.

She thought that we were done eating and ended up hogging the place when the restaurant was already super rowdy and crowded (the table was empty with no trace of leftover food in the first place). *TSK*

Finally a Selfie with Sweetie Muffin ~ ❤❤

Le' Food

We ordered the 6 Pieces Combo with Seaweed Fries (Regular) and Honey Yuzu Tea to share.

Le' Total Damage for this was SGD11.45 (inclusive of GST).

Honey Yuzu Tea

We love the Honey Yuzu Tea. In fact, this tea would be very good at clearing runny nose when consumed hot.

The chicken seemed to be too overly fried as it is deep brown colour and not the light golden brown which I prefer it to be.

Soy Garlic Sauce is used to season the fried chicken.

Deeply Fried Chicken..

Overall, the skin of the chicken tasted very crispy. But definitely not as succulent as our good ol' KFC. So I think they need to improve their formula in order to beat our Ah Gong Colonel Sanders.

KFC's Founder - Colonel Harland David Sanders

Honestly speaking, I still prefer fried chicken served by KFC. The Jumbo Wings served by IKEA is not a bad choice either.

So I wonder why is 4 Fingers so popular among Singaporeans?

In addition, the shoestring seaweed fries lack MSG and hence was rather insipid. Kriston suggested going back to Macdonald's for the Seaweed Shaker Fries instead. Meh :/

Seaweed Fries which lack flavour :(

Overall

Will not visit this place again when there are so many better choices for fast-food restaurants.

And the food ain't cheap either.
