Review: Triple Dry Anti-Perspirant

Stay DRY and FRESH all day long with Triple Dry Anti-Perspirants!

Website: http://www.triple-dry.com

Have you been badly bothered by sweaty underarms (aka sweaty pits) that emit foul-smelling odour?

Don't feel embarrassed! As humans, we have sweat glands and we do perspire at times and we do have some form of body odour - it just matters whether our odour is stronger than normal or not... :S

Hence today we will be offering a great solution to those who tend to perspire excessively - it is the Triple Dry Anti-Perspirants!!

Taking a Selfie with the products... Unfragranced for HIM and Fragranced for HER :)

I was grateful that The Sample Store sent me 2 bottles of Triple Dry Anti-perspirant Roll-On to try out :) You may register for an account to start receiving freebies by clicking on the icon below:

The Anti-perspirant Roll On comes in 2 variants - the Unfragranced and Fragranced versions. All retailing at S$15.90/50ml each.

According to Triple Dry, their Anti-Perspirant is an anti-bacterial formula that aims to protect against heavy perspiration and odour from perspiration. Its unique triple action formula responds to our bodies and works when we need it the most so that we can stay dry all day. It also has a waterproof formula that allows you to shower and swim without the hassle of reapplication. The ingredients are suitable for sensitive skin and they are manufactured in the UK.

How To Use?

Directions as per package insert:
  1. Shake the bottle (to ensure that the mixture is homogeneous)

  3. Once perspiration is under control, you may be able to reduce application to 3 times a week

The product claims to keep you dry for 72 hours (results varies from individual to individual of course) - I wouldn't want to test this out because I do not want to end up stinking the office... LOL.

Review

We have tried the Anti-Perspirants and they really do help to control our perspiration although we might experience a bit of stickiness on our pits whilst our bodies are perspiring away. This will be rather helpful for those who have ultra active sweat glands on their underarms as this product can help to control the perspiration. Also, we managed to stay odourless for the entire day after application even after perspiring profusely from the humid Singapore weather *WOW*

However, I personally still prefer using my own deodorant (I will write a separate post on my personal favourite for deodorants soon, stay tuned) although it doesn't really keep my pits dry as Triple Dry's Anti-Perspirant. This is because Aluminium-based compounds present in the anti-perspirant might be absorbed by the skin and cause changes in oestrogen receptors of breast cells. Since oestrogen can promote the growth of both cancerous and non-cancerous breast cells, some scientists have suggested that using the aluminium-based compounds in anti-perspirants may cause breast cancer indirectly. Although there is no clear correlation between breast cancer and the usage of aluminium-based anti-perspirants, it will still be something that we have to take precaution of.

In view that I am very KiaSee (Hokkien term which means afraid of dying), I will refrain from using products that might deem as a health threat to myself regardless of how well they perform.

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak

Top of the World Dining @ Spuds & Aprons

Ever wondered how will it feel to dine at the peak of a mountain and enjoy the top of the world dining experience?

It is a pity that Singapore does not have very tall mountains but Mount Faber is considered good enough for that elevated feel.. LOL.

Kriston and I decided to visit Spuds and Aprons at Faber Peak for brunch on a glorious weekend morning and we actually called to make a reservation as reservations are highly recommended according to online reviews.

Getting there can be a challenge especially when we do not drive and are not willing to spend the extra bucks on the cable car rides which is something most tourists would be doing. Hence we thought of a new solution - we took an MRT to Harbourfront Station and flagged a cab from VivoCity Shopping Mall... and.. guess what? The cab fare up was only SGD4++!

Le' Ambience

We opted to dine at The Garden (outdoor area) to enjoy the breeze on a hot sunny afternoon and to explore the outdoor area as well. The decor of the dining area is rather colourful and we kind of enjoyed the sky view outside ;)

Da Rabbit's "Panaromic" Activity

The view was splendid and there was also a "Bell of Happiness" for us to take photos with and also to ring it. I think the sound produced by the bell did brighten our day somehow!

Le' Service

Chilling around whilst waiting for food to be served...

We were told that our dishes need 20 minutes to be served but we waited for over 40 minutes and had to bug the staff before we finally get to eat. As this was supposed to be our brunch, we were famished and worn out from all that waiting by the time our dishes were served.

Le' Drinks

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak

Joy Punch (S$8.00++)

Lemon Juice, Lime Juice, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, Grenadine

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak

The Joy Punch tasted refreshing and light :)

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak

Don Pedro (S$13.00++)

Whiskey, Bailey, Milk, Cream, Vanilla Syrup and Ice-Cream

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak

I like this! It is very rich in flavour (not to mention very fattening) and you really get to taste the Whiskey and Bailey in the drink!

How Soggy and Wicked!!!

We were ultra disappointed with the fries as they are very soggy. I think the cheese fries served by KFC tasted way better (and cheaper too).

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Best Soggy Fries Ever!!!!

Braised Lamb Shank, Provençale Style (S$25.00++)

Murray Brudge Lamb Shank Sloshed with Red Wine, Slow Cooked and served with Garlic Confit. Served with Mashed Potatoes too.

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Braised Lamb Shank, Provençale Style (S$25.00++)

This dish tasted really bad. The gravy used tasted very similar to the one which KFC used for their whipped potatoes. Also, we had soggy potatoes overdose from the Wicked Fries earlier and hence felt disgusted instantaneously when we saw mashed potatoes served with this dish.

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Sorry to say but.. We really dislike this dish!

Also, the carrots tasted super duper HARD! Although I'm a rabbit, that doesn't mean that I enjoy my carrots RAW... Duh!!!

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Posing with the Lame Lamb Shank...

Braised Five Spiced Oxtail ($22.00++)

Wagyu Oxtail Rubbed with Five Spice and Braised for 3 Hours. Served with Mashed Potatoes too.

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Wassup with that bright RED pot??

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Braised Five Spiced Oxtail ($22.00++)

This dish tasted slightly better than the Lamb Shank but the base of the pot was filled with mashed potatoes as well ~ We got pretty sick of eating nothing but potatoes seriously... The gravy was salty and perhaps serving it with rice would make it taste better to make it less saltish.

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Too Jelak.. Haix!

In conclusion the dishes we ordered were too jalak (Malay adj. satiated by a food, particularly a food that is too rich, to the point that one feels repulsed by it) for our liking.

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Le' Unfinished Food :(

Le' Total Damage

Spuds & Aprons, Faber Peak
Total Damage? SGD89.46 for 2 pax!!!

Overall

The taste of the food falls way below our expectation and it is overpriced - perhaps we should just order the more popular dishes instead.

In fact, we ordered desserts but cancelled our orders as the main dishes did not taste good and the time taken to prepare the dishes were way too slow.

We will return only when we wanted to enjoy the sky view but will not order their main course - might enjoy the nice view over drinks and desserts instead.
